My passion was always to show and my love for dogs was always there. I had a dog all my life mostly purchased from the pound, while being involved with my mother showing Persian cats. This was since I was 8 years old .
I started training with a border collie. After obtaining her CD and CDX passes at the age of twelve months she then went on to gain her UD title at the age of 20 months.
Being a member of the Newcastle All Breeds Kennel club, I gave back to the club by becoming an instructor and passed my test with the RASKC in 1982. I instructed for the club for 5 years and trained up to 20 to 30 dogs in each class weekly. My heart was always set on showing but I had purchased a mis-marked border collie and loved her dearly so decided to go into obedience.
I was introduced to the sheltie in 1981 at the obedience club by the president Barry Fisher, who had a sheltie which he showed and trained in obedience, and decided from that moment on I would own and show shelties in the future. I purchased my first sheltie from L Tanks,Shelbrae Sand Piper in 1995, and he had a very successful showing career .
Unfortunately I had to give up showing due to family matters, and have been lucky enough to purchase a wonderful tri-colour dog and a beautiful blue merle bitch, from Carol Watson, to start my foundation for breeding and to fulfil my life long dream to show and breed shelties.
